PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY

SOCIAL MEDIA

Whether you embrace or resent it, one undeniable truth prevails – social media is an enduring force that refuses to fade away. Its influence on our business marketing strategies only intensifies with time. The elusive social media gods, or more accurately, their algorithms, constantly challenge us to navigate the ever-changing landscape of likes, subscribes, and visibility. The goalposts shift regularly, leaving us on our toes, wondering how to keep our businesses in the spotlight. Amidst this dynamic environment, one steadfast piece of advice echoes: post regularly and consistently, with daily updates being the baseline. Recognizing the sheer demand for this relentless effort, companies often designate individuals solely for this purpose. This is precisely where my expertise and role come into play, ensuring that your business remains prominently visible to the right audience in the ever-evolving realm of social media.

VERTICAL CONTENT

Most platforms of social media want vertical content as well as the traditional 16:9 this can be catered for by either planning ahead and shooting the content in vertical orientation from the get go or by editing ie cutting down the full video in post production, the latter being the easiest option.

EVENTS

As a skilled event videographer I know how to tell a compelling story through video. I can capture the essence of your event, highlighting key moments and creating a narrative that resonates with your audience. This includes candid reactions, emotional exchanges, and unique details that add depth to your event's story.

We can discuss your specific preferences and requirements and I can tailor my services to match the style, tone, and theme of your event. I can ensure that your event is captured in a visually stunning and memorable way to include highlight reels, promotional videos, or social media content.

This example is a current client ‘The Milton Rooms’ in Malton North Yorkshire. The brief being capture the atmosphere of the live events over a period of time and produce a short 1 minute highlights video for their website and social media.

I have to work seamlessly to blend into the background, capturing candid moments and genuine interactions without disrupting the flow of the event.

PROMO

Sally and Jane wanted a simple 2-3 minute promo video for their brand new venture ‘The Old Yard Coffee Shop’ showcasing their locally roasted coffee and home baked delectables. This would be for their social media YouTube, Facebook and Instagram so a standard 4k UHD version and a smaller shorter vertical version was provided.

A couple of 11/2 hour sessions for the filming and a day editing. I animated their logo a few graphics and some royalty free music.

Camera, gimbal, tripod, drone.

Whatever you are promoting yourself, your brand, your services should always resonate with your customers. Whether it's the compelling allure of interviews, the breathtaking perspective from drone footage, or the sheer cinematic beauty of meticulously shot slow motion, my job as videographer and editor is to dedicate crafting promotional content that not only captures attention but holds it until the very last second. Welcome to the era where your story unfolds in the brilliance of video.

Shot on a summers evening, the two artists Robert Dutton and Andrew Moodie talk us through their respective paintings and their fondness of the venue of the evening and of their up and coming exhibition at The National Trusts’ ‘Nunnington Hall’.

This type of shoot requires me to be reactive and have a ‘run and gun’ approach. Little preparation on my part was needed both artists had an idea of what they wanted to say but nothing was scripted, having a natural feel. I had a shot list and I knew I wanted the ending to be them chatting in deck chairs as the sun goes down.

An interview is a powerful and staple tool in videography as it offers a dynamic and authentic way to capture the essence of a person or a subject and enhance the storytelling experience. Overall, interviews in videography not only convey information but also evoke a deeper understanding and emotional engagement, making them an effective and impactful storytelling technique.

Here artist Robert Dutton talks about his fourth coming exhibition and these sound bites we recorded in his studio and they are captivating to watch as Rob talks about the places in Yorkshire he’s so passionate about painting.
